CIS's French-English bilingual programme is designed to allow students to be fluent communicators in both languages, providing them with an edge in an extremely competitive and ever-changing world. The programme is available at our Lakeside campus only for students in senior kindergarten to grade 6. It is fully aligned with the IB PYP and includes two qualified teachers per class: one native English speaker and one native French speaker.

Programme key features
CIS’ French-English bilingual programme started in grades 1 and 2 in August 2018 and has grown to have classes in senior kindergarten to grade 6*.
* Classes are subject to demand and sufficient student numbers
In our bilingual programme, students attend classes (with the respective teacher) in English one day, and in French the next, ensuring equal exposure to both languages.
A key feature of our programme is learning about French culture as research shows speaking a language without understanding its culture, has very little real-world value. We also support students in their learning with a wide range of resources including a world language section in our library.
Our established track record in the Chinese bilingual programme makes us one of the most experienced and trusted international schools in the region to educate students in becoming fluent communicators in two languages.
