In Secondary School students can focus on a variety of languages, including bilingual options. 

• Language and literature is available in English, Chinese and French from Grade 7.
• Language Acquisition is available in French, Chinese, Spanish, and English from Grades 7 to 12, and will be expanded to include Japanese in 2026.

CIS bilingual courses

Chinese-English Bilingual: CIS offers two bilingual courses in the MYP: 

• Bilingual Individual and Societies (Grade 7-10)
• Bilingual Mathematics (Grade 7-10). 

They are open to students who can demonstrate high levels of proficiency in Chinese. Both courses are fully aligned with the MYP framework for promoting intercultural understanding and inquiry-based learning. These bilingual courses will expand to include drama and music from 2026.

In each course, the language of instruction is Chinese, while students' assignments and exams are in English. It is a natural extension of our primary school CEB program, where students can further cognitive abilities and grow into bilingual thinkers. It also ensures a smooth transition for students to integrate into English-based courses during the Diploma Program.
