Learning beyond the classroom

As one of Singapore’s leading private primary schools, learning is not just confined to the classroom. Instead, we engage our students in a wide variety of outdoor learning activities ranging from lessons in our Outdoor Discovery Centre to field trips, excursion week and Open minds (hands-on learning experiences in settings such as Fort Canning and Sungei Buloh wetlands). These experiences build curiosity, resilience, and meaningful connections to the world around them.

Co-curricular opportunities

Our co-curricular opportunities, offered throughout the year, enrich classroom learning and encourage students to explore their interests in sport, performance, leadership, service, and innovation. These experiences build confidence, and strengthen a sense of belonging across our school community.

Leadership begins early at CIS. From classroom responsibilities to schoolwide initiatives, students are empowered to lead, collaborate, and make a difference.

Our House system inspires teamwork and school spirit through friendly competition and shared goals. Students may serve as House Captains, Student Councillors or classroom leaders, developing confidence, empathy, and communication skills along the way.

Through assemblies, performances and community events, students learn to lead with kindness, celebrate others’ successes, and contribute to the vibrant, caring culture that makes CIS so special.
