Orientation

Welcome to CIS and the 2020-2021 school year. On this page, we have welcome messages from our Head of School and divisional principals, information about orientation appointments, as well as details that will help you prepare for your child’s first week of school.

If you have any questions or concerns over the coming weeks, please reach out to our admissions team via email or phone +65 6734 8088.

Welcome from the Head of School

Welcome to the 2020/2021 school year. As a school, we are committed to providing extraordinary learning opportunities and encouraging exceptional achievement. We look forward to working with you as partners in your child’s education.

Arrival details

We understand that there is little we can do to control travel plans in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that you may still be waiting for your travel plans to be confirmed or for your Singapore passes to be approved. So that we can better understand what your circumstances are at the present moment (in Singapore or overseas), please complete this form. Our admissions team will then be able to plan for your arrival.

Start of school year information

Monday 3 August is the first day of the 2020/2021 school year and school hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm.

On Monday 3 August, the following grades will start the school year with on campus classes.

  • All primary students (nursery to grade 6, includes primary Foundation students)
  • Grade 7
  • Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 Foundation students.

Students in grades 8-12, who will be engaged in virtual learning on Monday 3 August, will start on campus classes on Tuesday 4 August. Students are expected to be on campus by 8.15am and should proceed straight to their classroom.

We will be sending all parents an email advisory on 24 July with how we will start the school year, information about a mandatory travel and health declaration and what COVID measures will be in place.

I hope that travel plans fall into place soon for those of you who are still overseas, and I look forward to meeting you all in person soon.

Sincerely,
Pete Corcoran
Head of School
