First day requirements
Here are the things that your child will need to have on their first day of school. Requirements are age based, so please peruse to see what your child will need. If textbooks are needed, they will be provided on a loaner basis by the school.
Our Digital Literacy team has a wealth of information available to support you. Once you’ve connected to our systems, head to the Digital Literacy section in My.CIS to learn more.
iPADs & MacBooks
CIS is an Apple School. While our younger students use shared classroom iPads, from grade 4, your child will need their own device from the very first day of school.
Devices must meet our requirements (see below) and if you purchase your device at the Apple Orchard store (we highly recommend you get Apple Care too), you’ll get a CIS discount if you show your acceptance letter or student ID.
Grade | Device you’ll need | Apps / software |
Grades 4-6 | iPad (requirements) | Apps you’ll need |
Grades 7-12 | MacBook (requirements) | Required software provided by CIS |
What if I need help?
If you’re joining us at orientation in July or January, our IT team will help you configure your device. If your child joins at any other time, they can visit our IT support office to get set up (teachers will guide younger students).
