Normal timetable will run for the day when you are not at the Grit event with the exception of PE. The PE timetable is cancelled for the whole day.

FORMAT

There will be four stations with students rotating through them with their house league teams. We will start in the Pods with a quick talk from the PE team. The ‘team’ will then move to one of the stations. Students will be at each station for roughly 15 minutes. Once all stations have been completed, everyone will meet in the bus bay To announce the winning house (if time permits).

TEACHER JOBS FOR THE DAY

Follow your house colour around the events and take part in the activities or help with score keeping. Help with transitioning my from station to station. Encourage the students and to try their best.

STATION ONE Upper Field (Half) (Sim and Milan)

Students will pair up and piggyback each other across the field for 8 minutes. All students will go at once and each time a pair completes a length, they score one point for their team. The team with the most points - wins!

STATION TWO Pool (Kelly)

Students will swim (weaker swimmers at the shallow end, students may use aides [kickboard/noodle] if desired) for 8 minutes and teachers will count how many lengths they complete. Each length will be counted as one point. The house with the most lengths (points) - wins!

STATION THREE Outdoor Discovery Centre and Climbing Frame (Mike and Haijing)

Students will race through an obstacle course inside the outdoor discovery centre and climbing structure. Each lap completed by the students within 8 minutes will be considered one point. The team with the most laps (points) - wins!

STATION FOUR Bus Bay (Bianca)

Students will compete in a timed shuttle run (8 minutes). Each group (of roughly 5 students) will run individually. At each pillar (eg. C4) of the shuttle run they will pick up a popsicle stick and return to the start. Once the student has picked up a popsicle stick and returned it, the next student goes to the next pillar in line (not necessarily the first pillar). Each popsicle stick will count as a point, then team with the most popsicle sticks at the end - wins!

TEACHERS AND HOUSES

We have had to move a couple of teachers to make sure each house has teacher coverage. Sorry if it causes any dramas.
