The CIS TK U12 girls basketball team had a great season. After going 3-1 in the regular season, the girls came out on the short end of a highly contested semi final match against eventual overall champions Chatsworth. But not to fear, the TK girls still had an opportunity to win the bronze medal. After getting off to a slow start, the girls poured on the offence while playing smothering defence in the second half to emerge victorious with a 14-9 score against Nexus to claim third place and the bronze medal. There were 10 teams in the division so to finish third was an amazing achievement!

I am very proud of the entire team, not because they finished with a medal, but because of their hard work, determination, and wonderful display of sportsmanship throughout the entire season. Well done girls!

Congrats to each and every team member: Sophie, Taanvi, Philomene, Fatma, Ritisha, Emma, Linna, Edie, Koyuki, Chloe, Emily, and Jasmine!

The U12 boys basketball team also had a great season! We started the season in a difficult situation as we didn't have any returning players from last year’s U12 boys team. What we were missing in experience, we certainly made up for in enthusiasm and commitment.

We did have a few players that moved up from our U11 team last season to join our team and their experience in game situations proved helpful as we battled through each game. We also had several grade six students step up as leaders! They worked hard on set plays, strategies, and overall skills and their efforts paid off late in the season as we proved to be a competitive team against tough competition.

Although we didn't qualify for the medal rounds, we did finish the regular season with a big win against Australian International School! It was nice to finish with a win as it demonstrated that our hard-work and dedication had paid off. The boys really enjoyed their season and look forward to next week's challenge as they join the girls team in a fun game against the teachers! Well done boys!
