The Communications and Marketing team is responsible for telling the CIS story. Whether it's speaking to parents or online influencers, media partners, industry thought leaders or the wider community, we are the voice of CIS.


The communications executive is a key role within the Communications and Marketing team at CIS, and is responsible for developing and delivering clear and compelling communications messages and materials to key audiences, growing CIS’ profile and brand reputation. All content will be on-brand and designed to appeal to our target audience.

In this role, you will create compelling content (written articles, infographics, video and other media) for the school’s magazine, website, and social channels. You will also contribute and help manage the school's corporate communications and channels. Ongoing measurement and analysis of the effectiveness of all content is also fundamental to this role.


The communications executive contributes to the overall communications strategy and business plans, with specialised input into communications, marketing, website, e-communications and programmes. Duties include:

  • Adopting a brand publisher mindset: to create content that resonates with our audience and is suitable for all channels.
  • Managing the Mosaic magazine’s editorial calendar and organisation workflows.
  • Conceptualising stories and ideas that will resonate and build brand loyalty across a range of channels. You must:
    • Have a pro-active approach and contact various CIS departments to keep abreast of the school’s events and news,
    • Read and research features and articles
    • Verify information and interview sources
    • Write, edit, proofread and sub text
    • Attend relevant school events, fairs and conferences.
  • Adopting a brand publisher mindset: to create the content our audience is looking for and then to optimise the path to conversion.
  • Creating and scheduling content using tools such as Creator Studio, Newsweaver and Hubspot.
  • Collaborating with team members across functions and silos to help deliver against the school’s content marketing strategy and editorial plan to meet the business objectives at the lowest possible cost.
  • Managing the yearbook project and related timelines, including training and supervision of the colleague/s in different divisions.
  • Ongoing collaborative development of editorial governance so content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone.
  • Measurement and optimisation of content on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Integration of content programmes with brand campaigns to drive brand demand.
  • Contributing to executive presentations on the programme approaches and results
  • Incorporating feedback loops and regular reviewing of campaign/service performance with internal stakeholders.

Other duties:

  • Marketing support: preparing talking points, speeches, presentations, communications and other supporting material as needed.
  • Writing and distributing press releases as required.
  • Contributing to content marketing initiatives (web, videos, blogs, paid advertorials, etc) to drive traffic, engagement, leads that deliver sales and customer retention.


We're looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and a proven track record of strong written English. Previous experience in a similar c communications role is essential, and demonstration of knowledge of how to apply communications and marketing strategies is required. Whatever your background, you'll need strong creative skills, a diligent work ethic and the desire to make a contribution.

You'll also need:

  • At least three years' experience in digital content creation/magazine journalism with a demonstrated ability in writing and editing; we will need to see your portfolio of digital and/or print content, including writing samples.
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications or Journalism.
  • Must have a strong command of the English language and a knack for refining story angles and repurposing copy.
  • Solid organisation and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • To be able to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A resourceful and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude with a proven track record of achieving results and getting things done.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced media environment and a working knowledge of content production and adaptation for print, online and social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with copy flow processes and style guides.
  • An understanding of the basic best practices of the main social media channels, which content and approaches work on each and why.
  • Editorial requirements include interviewing and research skills (from primary and secondary sources), basic SEO understanding, content categorisation and structure, content development, distribution and measurement.
  • Experience in the international school sector is beneficial.
  • Experience in media relations is beneficial.
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.


Full-time, based at our Jurong campus with 4-5 rostered days per month at our Tanjong Katong campus.
