It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Canadian International School (CIS) Tanjong Katong (TK) Canadian International School campus. We thank you for selecting CIS TK, and entrusting us with your children’s education.

We are a school known for having high academic standards, expectations and an International Baccalaureate (IB) programme delivered by outstanding teachers. We are also known for the strength of our community, and we aim for your family to settle in to school life as quickly as possible.

Orientation for new students is scheduled on Monday 7 January 2019 and the first day of school is Tuesday 8 January 2019. On Tuesday, we invite you to join us in the library at 8.45am for a morning coffee. You will get to chat to other parents, and meet our amazing PTA (parent teacher association).

The orientation schedule outlines what you need to do, at what time and where.

Our orientation page has information that will help you prepare for your first week of school. If you have any questions or concerns over the coming weeks, please feel free to contact your admissions officer or our main office.

Please note that TK does not have available parking spaces, however, there is a public carpark just outside the gates. Taxis are allowed to drop you off on premises.

SYSTEM ACCESS

On 19 December, you will receive an email with credentials to two CIS systems: ManageBac and My.CIS. Your teacher will give you an information sheet regarding SeeSaw access during orientation.

In ManageBac you will be able to view your child’s timetable, teachers and class locations. Please pay special attention to your child’s homeroom teacher details as you need this for orientation.

Sodexo is the CIS caterer. Meal choices change daily, with a selection of asian, western and vegetarian meals.

Nursery to senior kindergarten
There is no additional charge for snacks and lunch for kindergarten (nursery to senior kindergarten) students; however, meals must be pre-ordered online using the Campus Online system (available on the canteen page of My.CIS) or at orientation (Sodexo staff are available to assist you).

Grades 1 to 3
Lunch and snacks for students in grades 1 to 3 need to be pre-ordered online using the Campus Online system (available on the canteen page of My.CIS) or at orientation (Sodexo staff are available to assist you).

Grades 4 to 6
As well as three daily hot meal variations (Asian, western and vegetarian), items such as sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and more are available to students in grades 4-6. Meals have been designed to align to students’ tastes, but with a continued focus on nutrition and quality.

Students have the freedom to choose food in the canteen and pay for it using their student ID cards. Parents may use cash.

Before food can be purchased, money will need to be added to the student ID card via:

  • the cash top up machine in the canteen
  • at the Sodexo office on campus (cash or credit card), or
  • by credit card using the Campus Online system (from the canteen page of My.CIS). Please be aware that online payments attract a surcharge.

The Campus Online system allows parents to:

  • see what food their child is purchasing
  • restrict specific food items
  • set a daily spending limit
  • manage the value that is available on their child's card.

All students must wear the CIS uniform from the first day of school, unless advised otherwise. The uniform page on our website outlines what items your child will need, while the parent handbook outlines our uniform policy.

Welcome to Lakeside primary school. We hope that your child is looking forward to joining us in January.

Starting a new school or a new grade (not to mention moving to a new country), can be stressful, but we hope that we can make your transition to CIS as seamless as possible.

While our campus might appear large, our primary school is broken down into grade level communities, and our students settle in very quickly. Our community focus and individualised attention ensures that each and every child is very well cared for at CIS.

Orientation for Lakeside primary is scheduled on Monday 7 January 2019, and the first day of school is Tuesday 8 January 2019. On Tuesday morning, please join us for our new parent coffee morning.

Dear parents and students,

On behalf of our entire faculty and staff, it is my honour and privilege to welcome you to CIS secondary school. Each year, we offer orientation sessions for families to assist in their transition to a new school.

Orientation day and the first day of school are on Monday 7 January. The schedule below lets you know what you need to do, at what time and where.

Orientation is designed to provide you with an overview of secondary and let you finalise everything for your child's first week of school. Orientation does not tell you everything about our curriculum, facilities, programmes and calendar. More information about these items will be shared when school resumes.

We have two main systems that we use in Secondary: ManageBac and My.CIS. On 19 December, you will receive an email with your login credentials to ManageBac and My.CIS.

In ManageBac you will be able to view your child’s timetable, teachers and class locations. Please pay special attention to your child’s advisory teachers name and class details, as you will need to know this for orientation.

MACBOOK REQUIREMENTS

Students in grades 7 - 12 will need a MacBook for the first day of school. If you need to purchase one, the Apple store in Orchard Road offers prefered pricing for CIS families.
