WAELP Testaments

The following illustrates how the CIS student have responded to WAELP.

“I like Wednesday activity afternoons because I’m doing batik. I think it is great because it is fun and artistic. It gives us some time to relax and express our feelings and personalities in different ways” - Carlota

“Batik is my Wednesday Afternoon Activity and it is great!. I have been learning a lot from the teacher, and every time I make one its more and more exciting. I am really looking forward to learning more about it” - Yuko

“ I think we should all participate in the Wednesday activities because we might not get another chance in our life to experience them. I will try to do as many different activities as I can this year” - Nasarul

“I had a wonderful time in origami class. It was fun to learn many new things that I never knew before. It was really interesting to see a piece of paper turn into such magnificent shapes” - Do Young

“I really enjoy doing the flute workshop. Before I started this Wednesday activity I couldn’t blow the flute. However, in the flute workshop I learned to blow any time I wanted. I’m very pleased with myself” - Bo Ram

“ …I really like the Wednesday afternoon activities because we get to learn things that we may not get to do in regular school hours” - Simone

“I think the first aid session is great because we get to learn what to do in certain situations. I like to learn what precautions to take when an accident happens. I also love to recreate scenes and pretend to help someone. I also learned that CPR stands for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation”- Rianne

“Ask not what your community can do for you, but what you can do for your community. Once a week, I assist budding young artists between the ages of 5 and 6 to create masterpieces with construction paper, paint and glue. I help them overcome obstacles in cutting, pasting and painting. It is really rewarding to see their faces light up when they can’t wait to bring their finished work home to show their parents” - Tiffany
