Student Services (Guidance)

The Student Services Office is a very busy place in our school. We perform a variety of services, from university selection to timetabling, and from organizing the Teacher Adviser Program (TAP) to counseling. All this work is designed to make our students life in the school as easy, stress free, and enjoyable as possible. Hopefully, with the correct support and encouragement our students are able to concentrate on their studies and all those other activities that can make the high school years such an exciting and stimulating time.

We assist the students in selecting their courses for each school year, making sure they have the correct prerequisites that will allow them to complete their studies and graduate with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma as well as an IB Diploma if they are taking part in our International Baccalaureate program. Our senior students are thinking far into the future, most specifically about post secondary education. There are a large number of colleges and universities who welcome graduates from The Canadian International School (Singapore), and making sure our students get to the best place to further their studies is always a very fulfilling experience.

We also have a variety of other roles within the everyday life of the school. Answering the questions about a seemingly endless variety of topics keeps everyone busy in our department. Our school is a very vibrant place to be, with so many people doing so many exciting things. Of course, this always means that students, teachers and parents have to know what is going on and where they fit into the process. As much as possible we try to get the necessary answers to all of these questions. Record keeping, tracking Community Service Hours, and organizing the Teacher Advisor Programme are just some of our office duties.

During their time at The Canadian International School students have many achievements, academically and in extra curricular activities. It is our happy task to keep track of the accomplishment of our students so that we have a comprehensive record of everything that has taken place at the school involving all students.
