CIS ID Cards

The EZ-link card in circulation right now is the first card to be launched that adheres to the new Singapore Standard for Contactless ePurse Applications (CEPAS). The card can be used on public transport, to pay for food at participating outlets, etc.  The ez-link card is a thin, compact card conforming (similar to credit card). The card surface is made of PET material that is environmental friendly.

A tamper-proof IC chip and antenna are built into the card. Both the card and the reader communicate by using radio wave via wireless communication. To read more about Ez-link card technology, please visit this site.

Parent ID Cards (Ez-link Cards)

All CIS parents are provided with a photo ID card. These cards are an EZ-link card and must be used to access the campus and to purchase food, drinks and snacks in the canteen. In addition, these EZ-cards can be used to pay fares on public transport, used in IU devices to pay road tolls, and to purchase goods in participating retailers. CIS canteens school-wide from 31 October 2011 will be cash free zones.

Parents will need to show the ID cards to security personnel when entering the campus. You are required to display ID cards on your person at all times whilst on campus.

If you have not yet ordered your parent ID card, please download the application form here and return it to the school with the required passport photo immediately. Any additional Parent ID cards on top of the 3 that are initially requested, as well as replacements of lost Parent ID cards will cost $20.00.

Student ID Cards (Ez-link Cards)

Students in Grades 4 to 12 are provided with a photo ID card. These cards are an EZ-link card and will be used by students in Grades 4 to 5 to purchase food, drinks and snacks in the canteen. Students in ECE to Grade 3 will continue to use coupons to purchase their food and drink from the canteen. Please note that students in Grades 4 to 5 will no longer be able to use them to purchase food or drink. Unused coupons may be returned to the main office at Lakeside or TK for a refund.

In addition, EZ-link cards can be used to pay fares on public transport, used in IU devices to pay road tolls, and to purchase goods in participating retailers. CIS canteens school-wide from 31 October 2011 will be cash free zones.

Topping up Ez-link Cards

There are a number of ways that Ez-link cards can be topped up. Options include topup at 7-11 stores, topup at the general ticketing machines at MRT stations, topup at DBS/POSB and OCBC atm machines, topup at axs machines, etc. To view the full range of topup options, please see this site. In addition to these topup options, cash topup will be possible at the main office on each campus.

Future Uses for Ez-link Cards

CIS will be phasing in additional uses for the student EZ-link card . This school year, an automated attendance system will be implemented. Students will tap their cards on the card readers located at the entrance to all classrooms to register their attendance when they begin school in the morning. Plans for other uses for the card are currently under development.
