Health Centres

Each CIS campus has a health centre, run by a full time qualified health care provider. These health care providers are known as our School Health Coordinators and they provide first aid and support for all students.

When Not to Send Your Child to School

As parents, we understand that you do not want your child to miss school. However, you do not want to send a child to school sick and put them and the other children at risk.

Administering Medication

If a student requires the School Health Coordinator to administer medication, the parent or guardian must send a written note, giving the name of the prescribed medication, reasons, dosage and duration to be administered, together with the medication. Without this note, any medication brought to school will not be administered. Note: all medication to be administered must be prescribed by a qualified doctor or physician.

In the event where the parent/s or guardian/s cannot be reached during an emergency, the school may send the student to the nearest hospital or doctor for immediate medical observation and treatment.

For further information, please read the CIS School Health Guidelines and Policies as outlined in section 5 of the Parent Handbook.
