Leadership

CIS students regularly work in teams and present work to both peers and groups outside the classroom. We believe that the ability to speak comfortably in front of groups is an essential life skill, so we begin this aspect of education at ECE (at age 3) and continue all the way up through Grade 12. It is common for parents and other adults who meet CIS students to comment on how confident and poised CIS students are when engaging in public speaking.

While leadership and teamwork are an integral part of the classroom experience at CIS, students are encouraged to engage in more formalized leadership opportunities so that they may develop the self-confidence and courage needed to lead. These skills will serve students well throughout their life and allow them to take responsibility for shaping a better world. From the youngest student on campus to the oldest, opportunities to develop leadership skills abound.

A Culture of Excellence

We were a melting pot of race, religion and culture, we intermingled … Our growth was all encompassing as it was academic as well as experiential. The memories that we have and the friendships that we made will certainly last forever. I continue to keep in touch with many people from my CIS experience.
