Extra Curricular
Is your child ready to try their hand at something new or develop a new skill set?
Looking at the number of students involved in Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) at CIS, it is easy to see there is really nothing “extra” about the programme. The CIS ECA programme provides students from SK through Grade 12 with an opportunity to develop particular passions and talents outside regular school hours.
Students have a wide range of ECA activities to choose from. Activities on offer at CIS take two forms: Internal ECAs, activities provided by our experienced faculty, and external ECAs, run by external providers from the Singapore community who are leaders in their field. External ECAs do incur a user fee for participation. Internal ECA selections fall into three distinct categories: leisure and academics, arts and culture, and sports.
Some of the exciting and engaging activities that students can participate in can include: karate, in-line skating, photography, floor hockey, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, netball, yoga, cooking, specialized art projects, field hockey, soccer, and dramatic or musical activities.
In addition to the extra curricular activities on offer for students, students from grade 4 also have the opportunity to represent their school in competitive sports. Details of the competitive sports available at CIS can be viewed in the ECA information. General information regarding sports at CIS can be viewed on the sports section of our school website.
Internal & External ECAs
Internal ECAs, run by our experienced faculty, are usually free of charge or incur a minimal cost. External ECAs are run by members of the larger community and do incur a fee to enrol. Students are provided with ECAs in the areas of academics, the arts, recreational sports and board games. There are three ECA offerings each year, these run parallel to the seasons for competitive sports.
Information regarding ECAs at Lakeside can be viewed here, and information regarding TK ECAs can be viewed here.
