The goal for our Middle School is to provide the very best in learning opportunities for our students. We have captured the focus of our Middle Years programme as the 'Expanding Horizons Years'. At CIS, we recognize that this transition phase from childhood towards life as a young adult demands a special programme. Our goal is to provide a high quality curriculum that addresses students' varied levels of emotional, physical, and intellectual development. The learning programmes operate within a culture that combines a positive, caring and supportive learning environment with a climate of high expectations and growing self accountability.
Our inquiry based International Baccalaureate programmes combine with the best of the Canadian curriculum to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the world. Our talented and innovative teachers support students to understand themselves as active learners who are on an exciting and rewarding journey as successful, intelligent, and responsible global citizens. We value greatly the unique opportunities that Singapore provides, and our 'Open Minds' Programme engages the students in rich and unique experiences that expand their knowledge, talents and understanding.
Our school has a strong behaviour code, mostly unwritten, but communicated through expectations and modelling, with the students demonstrating a very high level of respect for others, themselves and the school as a place for active and engaged learning. Our students enjoy coming to school and display very positive attitudes. We also value the special relationships and partnerships that develop in a school with students and families from over sixty nationalities. Our students are able to experience the unique interactions of a community that encourages them to celebrate their own culture, as well as the culture of others.
