School Leadership

School Leadership Canadian International School (CIS) staff are passionate about education and the students in their care. We are fortunate to have highly experienced staff in all facets and areas of our school – academic, administrative and governance.

Our Academic Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinators and Principals facilitate curriculum development, innovation and implementation. Curriculum Coordinators provide regular professional development (PD) opportunities to keep teachers up to date on the latest research and teaching methodologies. Other school-wide professional development opportunities keep staff abreast of new innovations in the world of education and business, and up to date with international best practices. All our teaching staff are fully qualified and many have post graduate degrees. These PD sessions also make sure that new teachers are well-oriented in our curriculum after they arrive.

Faculty members often share skills and knowledge with their peers through job-alike sessions both within the school and through the network of international schools in Singapore.

Our educators come from countries such as Canada, the United States, Australia, Great Britain and New Zealand, while many of our administrative staff are local Singaporeans. This diversity in the workplace provides a unique and valuable cultural experience, and truly encourages global understanding.

A Culture of Excellence

Dr. Glenn Odland

Bachelor of Education, Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, Doctorate in Education
I hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the University of Calgary (Alberta, Canada), a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (M.A.) from Gonzaga University (Spokane, Washington, USA) and a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from Seton Hall University (South Orange, New Jersey, USA).

I cherish most in life my relationships, particularly in these four domains: my faith, my family, my friends and my colleagues. These activities I enjoy: a daily run, alfresco dining, an engaging read, a great movie, and learning about the world and its people through travel.
