Ontario Intermediate Academic Programme
The Grade Six, Seven and Eight Programme is developed as tran sitional years to help students adapt to the academic rigours of the secondary programme. The introduction of the rotary system and the increased emphasis on independent learning, critical thinking, effective communication and self-motivation provide students with the necessary skills to be successful in the High School Programme.
Academic Preparation
During these years of transition to the secondary programme, students are encouraged to work effectively, using good time management skills. The high academic requirements ensure that students learn in a challenging, but po sitive environment. The focus on problem-solving and creative thinking encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning. |
Active Learning
Adolescents are active learners. Hands-on learning interests adolescents in the world around them and encourages questioning and discovery. Whether building models to test the effect of density or using drama to encourage language development, our teachers help develop and instill a love for learning in each student. Our Open Minds programme encourages students to view the world around them with depth and understanding. |
Co-Curricular Activities
All students are encouraged to participate in the co-curricular programmes run at lunch or after school. Activities include house league sports, clubs, visual arts, calligraphy, choir and violin. These activities allow students to express themselves in different ways and experience new success outside of the formal classroom environment. |
