Middle & High Community Outreach Committee
About the Community Outreach Club
A group of teachers, parents, and most recently students have joined forces as the Community Outreach Committee to reach out and help others. In years past, the Community Outreach Committee has worked hard to build awareness amongst students of the needs and social situations of people in Singapore and around the world. CIS has a long-standing relationship with the Tabitha Foundation of Canada who works in Cambodia. We have sent many volunteers on house-building excursions in villages made up of families in need. This year, CIS will continue to support Tabitha and other important charitable organizations. The group plans to support several charitable organizations, schoolmates and people around Asia who are in need.
Who Can Participate?
All students from Grades 6-12 are welcome to join the committee.
Benefits of Participating
The members of the Community Outreach Committee are leaders in helping others. They are models of good citizenship and positive acts of kindness. Students will develop exceptional organizational and teamwork skills, as well as have the opportunity to brainstorm ideas and then make them happen.
When and Where does the Committee Meet?
The committee meets all year, every Thursday from 12:15-1:00 in A205 (Ms. Miller's room).
