Chemistry Contest - Avogadro

About the Avogadro and CHEM 13 News Contests

The Avogadro Contest is a competition open to Grade 11 Chemistry students who are interested in testing their knowledge of atoms and reactions. Students will be preparing for the competition in mid-May. In preparation students will develop strategies at solving a wide variety of chemistry questions

Similarly, the CHEM 13 News Contest is open to Grade 12 Chemistry students. Students will also be preparing for the competition in mid-May. Students will continue to explore Chemistry through questions that continue with and extend beyond that which is covered in class.

Who can participate?

The Avogadro contest is open to student who are not enrolled in (or aren’t currently taking) SCH4U. The CHEM 13 News contest is open to all students, but is intended for students currently enrolled in SCH4U.

Benefits of participating

Students continue to keep their chemistry knowledge sharp by using and apply what they’ve already learned. Successful scores in these contests are looked upon favourably by certain Universities.
