<title>Canadian International School hosts educators from Indonesia</title>

<description>The Canadian International School High School campus will be hosting educators from the Al Jabr Islamic School in Jakarta, Indonesia on March 15 to 26. The visiting educators will gain an insight into CIS’ Middle Years Programme, how the programme is implemented, and to learn more about our educational philosophies.  There will also be the chance to have a round table discussion with the CIS MYP co-ordinator, Principal and teachers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Al Jabr has grown since its inception in 1994, when it started as an orphanage. Over the years they have grown and currently have 300 students across 5 grades and offer the Primary Years Programme. They intend to expand the grades on offer and are looking to implement the MYP.</description>

<description>The friendship race will be held on Saturday March 13, 2010, 3pm-7pm at Bedok Reservoir. Come on out, bring the family and enjoy an exciting afternoon of dragon boat racing*.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Only $10 per person and enjoy a delicious BBQ buffet, drinks and good company!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your picnic blankets are encouraged! Delicious $5 beer can be purchased on site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You and your kids over 12 years old can also sign up to join a crew and participate in a 300 metre race. No experience necessary, but basic swimming skills required. <title>Congratulations Canada - 14 Gold Medals!</title>

<description>&lt;br /&gt;The Canadian International School of Singapore would like to congratulate the Canadian Men’s and Women’s Winter Olympics Hockey teams on their gold medal wins.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Canada has achieved a new record with the number of Gold medals won at this year’s Winter Olympics. The Canada Gold medal tally has hit a record number of 14, over passing the previously held Russian record of 13 Gold medals at the 1976 Winter Olympics.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are proud to be Canadian – Go Canada!</description>

At this meeting we will be hearing from 2 guest speakers, Dr. Lisa Pittman and Diana Smit, who are researching a book for expat teens. The book, entitled "By Expat Teens, For Expat Teens, will be a communication tool that provides an outlet for expat teens to share challenging and dificult experiences with their fellow expat peers. This book is unprecedented in that it will use teens as the experts. We would also encourage parents from the other campus’ to attend as their children will be the beneficiaries of this research.
